Education and Entrepreneurship in Uganda: A Comprehensive Review

Abstract
Education plays a crucial role in fostering entrepreneurship, yet empirical research on this topic is limited, particularly in Uganda’s public sector management context. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including a quantitative survey of 300 entrepreneurs and qualitative interviews with 25 business educators. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. Entrepreneurs who attended formal business education programmes reported higher levels of entrepreneurial success (87%) compared to those without such training (49%). Business education significantly enhances the likelihood of entrepreneurship success in Uganda, with a notable difference observed between trained and untrained entrepreneurs. The government should prioritise investment in business education programmes to support future Ugandan entrepreneurs. Uganda, Entrepreneurship, Business Education, Public Sector Management
