Abstract

Youth engagement in business dynamics is increasingly recognised as a critical factor for economic growth and social stability across Africa. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews with quantitative data analysis to explore current trends and challenges faced by young entrepreneurs in Ethiopia. Youth constitute a significant portion (35%) of the business population, yet face substantial barriers such as limited access to finance and inadequate training programmes. Policy reforms are needed to support youth entrepreneurship, including improved financial inclusion and targeted educational initiatives. Implement structured mentorship programmes for young entrepreneurs and introduce more accessible financing options tailored to their needs.
