Abstract

Cloud computing has emerged as a significant technological advancement for businesses worldwide, offering cost-effective solutions and enhanced scalability. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and semi-structured interviews to gather data from a sample of 150 small businesses across various sectors in Lagos City. A notable proportion (42%) of the surveyed SMBs reported improved operational efficiency after adopting cloud computing solutions, with significant reductions in IT infrastructure costs. The findings suggest that while there is growing interest and some adoption, more support and education are needed to enhance technological adaptability among small business owners in Lagos City. Government bodies should collaborate with technology providers to develop targeted training programmes aimed at improving the understanding and utilization of cloud computing platforms by SMBs.
