Abstract

Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores speculative futures for Africa and its diasporas through interdisciplinary approaches. The review synthesizes existing Afrofuturist scholarship on Morocco, focusing on theoretical frameworks and empirical analyses. A thematic analysis revealed recurring themes of technological advancement, cultural preservation, and economic diversification as central to Moroccan futures discussed within the Afrofuturism discourse. The review underscores the utility of Afrofuturism in fostering nuanced insights into contemporary African development trajectories, particularly in Morocco. Further research should explore how specific Afrofuturist narratives can inform policy and practice in Moroccan society.
