Abstract

Urbanization in Guinea’s informal settlements has accelerated due to rural-urban migration and economic opportunities. Mixed-methods approach including qualitative interviews with residents, quantitative data on service provision, and literature review. Urban settlements face significant challenges in accessing basic services like healthcare and education compared to peri-urban areas. Inadequate social welfare infrastructure disproportionately affects urban residents, necessitating targeted policy interventions. Enhanced funding for urban public health facilities and community-based education programmes is recommended.
