Abstract

Manufacturing systems adoption in Nigerian plants has been a topic of interest for assessing productivity improvements. The review employs rigorous methodology including systematic searching and selection processes from academic databases. Studies are critically analysed for their use of quasi-experimental design in measuring adoption rates across various sectors. A notable finding is the predominance of within-industry comparisons over cross-sectional studies, indicating a preference for local context-specific evaluations. The review underscores the importance of rigorous methodological approaches to ensure valid conclusions regarding manufacturing system adoptions in Nigerian contexts. Future research should expand on longitudinal quasi-experimental designs to provide more comprehensive insights into long-term adoption impacts. manufacturing systems, adoption rates, quasi-experimental design, Nigeria Model estimation used $\hat{\theta}=argmin_{\theta}\sum_i\ell(y_i,f_\theta(x_i))+\lambda\lVert\theta\rVert_2^2$, with performance evaluated using out-of-sample error.
