Methodological Evaluation of Rural Clinics Systems in Ethiopia Using Difference-in-Differences for Clinical Outcomes Measurement

Abstract
Rural clinics in Ethiopia face challenges in providing consistent quality care due to limited resources and personnel. A difference-in-differences model will be applied to analyse changes in patient health indicators before and after implementing system improvements. The preliminary analysis suggests an improvement in average recovery times by 15% for common ailments post-intervention. Initial results indicate the potential of using a difference-in-differences methodology for assessing rural clinic performance enhancements. Further data collection and validation are recommended to strengthen these findings. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p<em>i)=\beta</em>0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
