Abstract
This article explores the historical roots of contemporary governance challenges in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), focusing on how past events have shaped current conditions. No empirical data or results are provided; instead, this article employs an interpretative approach drawing from archival research and existing literature on African history. This theoretical framework underscores the need for an integrated approach to address historical legacies alongside contemporary challenges in DRC’s governance. Policy recommendations include fostering intergenerational dialogue on history to promote reconciliation and collaborative problem-solving within governance structures.
