Abstract

Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores alternative visions of Africa's future through science fiction and other artistic expressions. The research employs interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA) and thematic synthesis to analyse primary data from Afrofuturist texts and secondary sources related to Ghanaian society in . Themes emerged around the tension between traditional African values and emerging global influences, with a notable proportion of texts highlighting technological advancement as a key driver for future change in Ghana. Afrofuturism offers valuable insights into how contemporary African societies might envision their futures, particularly concerning cultural preservation amidst globalization. Further research should explore the implications of Afrofuturist perspectives on policy and education systems to better prepare for Africa's future challenges.
