Health Systems Resilience in Ghanaian Epidemic Response: Lessons in Adaptation and Coordination

Abstract

The study examines health systems resilience in Ghana’s response to epidemics within African Studies. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data from official health records and qualitative insights through interviews with healthcare workers and policymakers. Health systems in Ghana demonstrated significant adaptability to the Ebola outbreak of by reallocating resources efficiently, which served as a model for subsequent epidemics. Ghana's experience highlights the importance of resource allocation flexibility, stakeholder collaboration, and early warning systems in enhancing epidemic response effectiveness. Develop comprehensive contingency plans that prioritise reallocation of existing resources during emergencies. Enhance coordination between different sectors to ensure seamless service delivery.
