Abstract

LGBTQ youth in Kisumu, Kenya face unique social challenges that require innovative community development initiatives. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative surveys among 120 participants to assess impact on employment, education, and overall well-being. A notable trend emerged where youth in the model that integrated peer support groups saw a significant increase of 35% in job opportunities compared to those without such support. The comprehensive social entrepreneurship models have shown promising results in improving the life trajectories of LGBTQ youth, necessitating replication and further research. Policy makers should prioritise funding for multi-faceted community development programmes targeting specific demographics, particularly LGBTQ youth.
