Abstract
Theoretical frameworks for school-based food security education programmes in rural Zimbabwean primary schools are lacking, despite their critical role in addressing food insecurity among adolescents. Theoretical synthesis and qualitative content analysis were employed to identify key components and strategies of effective education programmes. This framework provides a theoretical foundation for educators and policymakers in designing culturally relevant and impactful food security education initiatives. Schools should integrate local agricultural knowledge into curricula, collaborate with communities for practical learning experiences, and evaluate programme effectiveness through ongoing feedback mechanisms.
