Abstract

Urban slums in Namibia are characterized by socio-economic disparities, leading to significant access disparity for law and justice services. A mixed-methods approach involving surveys, focus groups, and interviews with vulnerable populations in selected urban slums. Findings indicate that over 60% of respondents face significant barriers to accessing justice services due to financial constraints and inadequate infrastructure. Urban slum residents often lack access to legal information and are hindered by bureaucratic inefficiencies, necessitating targeted interventions. Policy recommendations include improved public outreach for legal aid, enhanced community-based support structures, and increased funding for urban slums.
