Abstract

Health insurance in Nigeria is a relatively underdeveloped sector, with rural areas often lagging behind urban centers. The study employed qualitative research methods to gather data from interviews and focus groups conducted with a sample of rural Hausa farmers. The study highlights challenges in programme implementation and suggests improvements for better farmer engagement and benefit utilization. Implementing targeted outreach programmes and enhancing communication strategies are recommended to improve coverage extension and benefits utilization among rural farmers.
