Abstract

District hospitals in Tanzania play a crucial role in healthcare delivery, yet their effectiveness varies significantly across regions. A mixed-methods approach was employed to gather data from panel surveys conducted over two years. The study utilised a linear regression model for yield improvement measurement, accounting for potential confounding variables using robust standard errors. Our findings indicate that the average hospital yield improved by 15% after implementing targeted interventions aimed at enhancing resource utilization and service delivery efficiency. The implemented interventions have shown promising results in improving operational yields of district hospitals, underscoring the need for systematic data-driven approaches to enhance healthcare system performance. Further research should focus on replicating these findings across different regions and contexts, with an emphasis on sustainability and scalability of the proposed interventions. District Hospitals, Panel Data, Yield Improvement, Resource Utilization, Efficiency Measures Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
