Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of an eco-friendly farming programme in the Western Ethiopian Highlands. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews with quantitative surveys to evaluate programme outcomes. Farmers showed a significant interest (75%) in adopting new farming techniques following the training programme, particularly in water conservation methods. The findings suggest that structured farmer education significantly enhances adoption rates of sustainable agricultural practices. Policy recommendations include scaling up successful interventions and integrating more community-based initiatives to boost sustainability efforts.
