Abstract

Traditional medicine plays a significant role in healthcare systems across Zambia, blending with modern medical practices. A qualitative study involving interviews with traditional healers and surveys among patients seeking both traditional and conventional treatments. The integration of traditional medicine into contemporary Zambian healthcare systems demonstrates the potential for enhancing accessibility and effectiveness of healthcare services, especially in underserved regions. Policy makers should consider integrating traditional medicine into national health policies to improve healthcare coverage and quality.
