Educational Support Programmes in South Sudanese Refugee Camps: A Longitudinal Perspective on Impact in Egypt

This Perspective Piece explores educational support programmes implemented in South Sudanese refugee camps within Egyptian campsites over a three-year period. Educational support programmes were evaluated through qualitative interviews with parents, teachers, and students, alongside document review and observation in selected campsites. Despite initial challenges, the educational support programmes demonstrated substantial improvements in students' academic performance and overall well-being, highlighting their crucial role in mitigating the adverse effects of displacement on education. For future research, it is recommended to conduct more longitudinal studies across different refugee contexts and integrate technological solutions to enhance learning outcomes.
