Abstract

The Sahel region in Kenya is facing significant environmental challenges due to climate change, impacting human security across various dimensions. This study employs a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative interviews to assess climate impacts on livelihoods, health, and governance structures. Climate change has led to a 20% reduction in agricultural productivity in the Sahel region of Kenya, affecting food security and economic stability. The findings highlight the urgent need for integrated climate adaptation measures that include early warning systems, sustainable agriculture practices, and community-based health initiatives. Policy recommendations include investing in resilient infrastructure, promoting agro-forestry techniques, and strengthening local governance structures to mitigate climate risks.
