Abstract

Religious pluralism is a prominent feature in Cape Verdean West Africa, reflecting the country's diverse ethnic and cultural heritage. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from surveys with qualitative insights from interviews and focus groups conducted across different regions of Cape Verde. A notable finding is the significant proportion (35%) of respondents who reported engaging in inter-faith activities or dialogue, indicating active participation despite religious diversity. The study underscores the importance of fostering inclusive environments that respect and promote understanding among diverse religious communities in Cape Verde. Policy makers are encouraged to develop initiatives aimed at enhancing inter-religious cooperation and education to mitigate potential conflicts arising from religious pluralism.
