Abstract

Telemedicine platforms have gained prominence as a solution to improve healthcare delivery in underserved areas, especially for chronic diseases such as diabetes. The research employed a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative analysis of clinic records. Telemedicine platforms significantly improved patient adherence to treatment regimens, particularly among rural patients who face transportation barriers. Despite initial teething issues, telemedicine has shown promise in enhancing diabetic care quality and accessibility in urban settings. Urban health policymakers should incentivize the adoption of telemedicine by providing training for healthcare providers and subsidizing equipment costs.
