Methodological Evaluation of Rural Clinics Systems in Kenya Using Panel Data for Clinical Outcome Measurement
Abstract
Rural healthcare systems in Kenya often face challenges related to resource allocation and quality of care delivery, impacting patient outcomes. A mixed-methods research protocol will employ econometric techniques including fixed effects regression models to analyse longitudinal data from multiple rural healthcare facilities in Kenya. Initial analysis suggests that clinic proximity and patient adherence to treatment protocols significantly influence recovery times, with a coefficient of -0.75 for proximity and 0.62 for adherence. The findings indicate potential areas for system improvement by focusing on enhancing clinic accessibility and improving patient compliance. Policy recommendations include increasing funding for rural infrastructure development and implementing community health education programmes to boost treatment adherence. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
