Abstract

Sustainable development has become a critical issue for African Congolese enterprises as they seek to balance environmental conservation with economic growth. This mixed methods study employs both qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys among Congolese enterprises to gather comprehensive insights into their sustainable development efforts. A notable finding is the significant proportion (45%) of surveyed businesses incorporating renewable energy sources in their operations, indicating a growing trend towards sustainability. The study concludes that strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement are pivotal for successful implementation of sustainable practices among Congolese enterprises. Businesses should prioritise renewable energy integration and strengthen community involvement to foster broader sustainable development initiatives.
