Abstract

Afrofuturism is a concept that explores African cultures through the lens of science fiction and technology, highlighting potential futures for Africa. The analysis will draw upon theoretical frameworks from Afrofuturism and apply them to Tanzanian socio-economic data, without conducting empirical research due to its qualitative nature. A consistent theme emerging from Afrofuturist analyses is the emphasis on technological advancement for societal improvement in Tanzania. Afrofuturism provides a unique perspective that can enhance policy discussions by incorporating futuristic visions into current debates about development and innovation. Policy makers should consider integrating Afrofuturist themes to stimulate innovative thinking and promote sustainable development in Tanzania.
