Economic Empowerment Strategies for Urban Youth in Dakar: An Analysis of Job Training Programmes' Outcomes

Abstract

Urban youth in Dakar face significant economic challenges due to limited access to formal employment opportunities. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data analysis from programme participants with qualitative interviews to explore participant experiences and outcomes. While the programmes have improved employability, ongoing support is needed to sustain these gains and address persistent barriers to employment. Investment in post-training mentoring programmes should be prioritised to further boost youth employment outcomes.
