Abstract
Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores African and diaspora futures through science fiction, technology, and art. This study employed qualitative research methods, including thematic analysis of interviews with 30 Nigerian futurists and a content analysis of Afrofuturist artworks. Themes emerged around technology integration into daily life (e.g., biometric security) and environmental concerns (e.g., climate change adaptation). Afrofuturism in Nigeria emphasizes technologically advanced yet sustainable futures, influencing public discourse on technological development and environmental stewardship. Policy makers should consider Afrofuturist visions when crafting technology policies to ensure they align with societal values of sustainability and inclusivity.
