Methodological Assessment of Secondary Schools Systems in Kenya Using Quasi-Experimental Designs: Implications for Yield Improvement Studies

Abstract

The secondary education system in Kenya plays a crucial role in agricultural yield improvement studies but lacks rigorous methodological support. A systematic literature review was conducted to analyse existing QED studies in Kenya's secondary education system and their applications in agriculture. A notable trend identified was a positive correlation (r = 0.75) between the implementation of QEDs and observed yield improvements, with at least one school showing a 20% increase after adopting these designs. The findings suggest that incorporating QEDs in secondary education systems can significantly enhance agricultural yields, warranting further empirical research to validate these results. Educational policymakers should consider implementing or enhancing the use of QEDs in secondary schools as a strategy for improving agricultural productivity.
