Abstract
Rwanda has made significant strides in reducing maternal mortality rates through innovative community health worker (CHW) programmes. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data from surveys and qualitative interviews to evaluate programme impact over time. The findings underscore the critical role of CHWs in addressing rural health disparities, particularly for underserved populations. Policy makers should prioritise sustained funding and continuous training for CHW programmes to sustain maternal mortality reduction gains.
