Abstract

Resource extraction projects in Kenya have been a contentious issue due to their potential impacts on human rights, including environmental degradation and social displacement. The analysis will draw upon existing legal literature on human rights and environmental law in Kenya, as well as relevant international standards. A comprehensive understanding of human rights challenges in Kenyan resource extraction projects is essential for developing effective legal protections and community engagement strategies. Legal reforms should focus on strengthening existing frameworks while promoting transparent and participatory decision-making processes involving local communities.
