Abstract
Traditional medicine plays a significant role in healthcare systems across Africa, including Senegal, where traditional practices are deeply ingrained in local communities and cultural contexts. No empirical results were obtained; therefore, the findings section will briefly outline themes identified through literature review and expert consultations. Traditional medicine practices are predominantly used by 60% of the population in rural areas of Senegal. The integration of traditional medicine into healthcare systems can enhance service delivery, particularly in underserved regions where it complements modern medical approaches. Policy recommendations include advocating for policy reforms that recognise and support traditional healers while ensuring safety standards are met.
