Abstract
This study examines the intersection of urbanization, informal settlements, and social welfare in Ethiopian cities from to . We employed a comparative study approach using secondary data sources such as census reports, government documents, and academic publications. A notable finding was the significant proportion (34%) of residents living in informal settlements who lacked access to basic healthcare services. The research highlights the urgent need for targeted social welfare programmes tailored to the specific needs of marginalized urban populations. Policy recommendations include increasing funding for community health centers and enhancing public awareness campaigns about available resources.
