Abstract
Gambia has experienced significant political instability following a military coup in , leading to a complex socio-political climate that impacts religious pluralism and inter-faith relations. A qualitative approach was employed through document review and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders from various faith communities and government agencies involved in public policy development. Inter-faith relations have shown resilience despite political upheaval, with a notable proportion of community leaders advocating for inclusive governance mechanisms that promote dialogue and mutual respect among different religious groups. The analysis underscores the importance of integrating religious diversity into post-coup Gambia's public policy frameworks to foster social stability and equitable governance. Policy recommendations include fostering inter-faith mediation programmes, promoting educational initiatives on religious tolerance, and establishing community-based interfaith councils as mechanisms for dialogue and conflict resolution.
