Abstract

Health systems in Togo have faced numerous challenges during epidemic responses, necessitating a deeper understanding of resilience mechanisms. A qualitative study using semi-structured interviews with healthcare professionals and policymakers. Healthcare workers reported significant challenges in maintaining services, particularly in rural areas, where the proportion of staff shortages reached up to 30% during peak response periods. Togolese health systems demonstrated remarkable resilience in managing outbreaks but also highlighted systemic weaknesses that require targeted interventions. Investment in healthcare workforce training and retention strategies is essential for enhancing system stability during future epidemics.
