Ethiopia’s Educational Policy Reforms and Implementation Disparities,

Ethiopia's educational system has undergone significant policy reforms aimed at improving access, quality, and equity in education. These reforms have been implemented across various sectors including primary, secondary, and higher education. The analysis is based on a qualitative approach involving interviews with educators, policymakers, and community members. Data from these sources were analysed to assess the challenges faced during implementation. Interview data revealed that while there was broad agreement on the need for reform, disparities in resource allocation and teacher training varied significantly across regions, affecting educational outcomes unevenly. The implementation of Ethiopia's educational reforms has not been uniform, with notable regional differences impacting student performance and learning environments. To enhance equitable access to quality education, it is recommended that the government invests more equitably in resource allocation and teacher training programmes across all regions.
