Improvement Outcomes of Community-Based Antenatal Care Programmes on Maternal Health in Northern Uganda,

Community-based antenatal care (ANC) programmes have been implemented in various regions to improve maternal health outcomes. A mixed-methods approach involving quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews was employed. Data were collected from to across four districts in Northern Uganda. The survey results indicated that the ANC programmes led to a significant increase of 35% (95% CI: 20-48) in the rate of antenatal care utilization, with a notable reduction of neonatal mortality by 15% (95% CI: -7 to -26). The findings suggest that community-based ANC programmes have had positive impacts on maternal health outcomes in Northern Uganda. Further research should be conducted to explore the sustainability and scalability of these programmes across other regions.
