Methodological Evaluation of Field Research Stations in Uganda: A Meta-Analysis on Adoption Rates Measurement in Randomized Trials
Abstract
Field research stations play a crucial role in measuring adoption rates of sustainable land management practices in Uganda's diverse landscapes. A meta-analysis approach was employed to synthesize data from multiple randomized field trials conducted between and . The analysis included a total of 8 studies with varying sample sizes (N = 1200-2013) and regions in Uganda. Findings indicate that the proportion of adopters varied significantly across different research stations, ranging from 20% to 60%, suggesting significant variability in adoption rates due to station-specific factors such as site characteristics and intervention design. The meta-analysis highlights the importance of standardising field research methods for more consistent adoption rate measurement in Uganda's diverse environments. Future studies should prioritise methodological uniformity across stations to improve the reliability and comparability of adoption rate measurements.
