Abstract

This study examines business challenges and opportunities in post-conflict Uganda, focusing on the period from to . Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 30 business owners and managers in post-conflict regions, supplemented by secondary data from official reports and academic journals. Businesses operating in conflict zones faced significant challenges such as infrastructure damage (65%) and security concerns (72%), leading to reduced profitability (48%). Despite these challenges, businesses identified opportunities for growth through innovative financing solutions and community involvement. Governments should prioritise rehabilitation of key infrastructures and provide targeted financial assistance. Businesses are encouraged to engage with local communities to foster sustainable development.
