Quantifying Community-Based Biodiversity Conservation Programmes in Eastern Mozambique's Provinces,Context
Abstract
Eastern Mozambique's provinces have implemented various biodiversity conservation programmes aimed at preserving local ecosystems. A comparative analysis was conducted using data from interviews and surveys conducted among stakeholders involved in conservation efforts. Findings indicate a significant improvement (p < 0.05) in species diversity indices across all surveyed provinces over a two-year period, suggesting the programmes are effective in biodiversity preservation. The results highlight the positive impact of community-based conservation initiatives on local ecosystems but also reveal areas needing further intervention to sustain these gains. Future studies should focus on consolidating and expanding successful practices while addressing challenges related to resource allocation and stakeholder engagement. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
