Abstract

Risk reduction strategies are crucial in healthcare systems to improve patient outcomes and resource efficiency. A mixed-method approach was employed, including a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical analysis using panel data regression models. Panel data showed that implementing targeted interventions reduced patient readmission rates by approximately 15% over the study period. The use of panel data estimation significantly enhanced our understanding of risk reduction strategies in Ethiopian district hospitals, providing a robust framework for future research and policy development. Further longitudinal studies should be conducted to validate these findings and explore additional interventions that could further reduce hospital readmissions. Risk Reduction, Panel Data Estimation, Ethiopia, District Hospitals Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
