Abstract

This study examines community-based food security interventions aimed at improving livelihoods in rural villages of northern Ghana. A mixed-method approach was employed, including qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys conducted in across selected villages. Data analysis utilised descriptive statistics to summarize findings. Crop yields showed an average increase of 15% with significant improvements noted for maize and sorghum crops over previous years. The interventions significantly improved food security by enhancing agricultural productivity, leading to better livelihood outcomes in the studied villages. Further research should focus on scaling up successful interventions and exploring their long-term impacts on rural communities' resilience. Food Security, Livelihood Improvement, Agricultural Productivity, Community-Based Interventions Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
