Abstract

Community health centres (CHCs) in Ghana are pivotal for healthcare access, particularly in underserved areas. However, their effectiveness and impact need rigorous evaluation. A comprehensive search of peer-reviewed journals was conducted using databases such as PubMed and Scopus. Studies were selected based on inclusion criteria, including studies that applied difference-in-differences (DiD) models to evaluate CHC impact. The DiD model revealed a significant reduction in child mortality rates by 15% across the study regions compared to control areas without CHCs. While the DiD method provided robust evidence of CHCs' effectiveness, there remain inconsistencies in data collection and analysis methods among studies. Future research should standardise data collection protocols and increase longitudinal study designs for more reliable impact assessments. Community Health Centres, Difference-in-Differences (DiD), Ghana, Healthcare Impact Evaluation Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
