Pan-Africanism Reimagined: Challenges and Opportunities in Djibouti's 21st Century Context

Abstract
Pan-Africanism has been a significant force in African Studies for decades, with Djibouti serving as an important case study given its strategic location and diverse cultural landscape. The analysis will draw upon existing literature, interviews with key stakeholders, and secondary data sources to explore how Pan-Africanist sentiments intersect with current socio-economic policies in Djibouti. Findings indicate that despite a growing diaspora community, integration of Pan-African values into national education curricula remains underdeveloped, highlighting a need for greater policy alignment. This study underscores the importance of fostering inclusive educational programmes to support the development and preservation of Pan-Africanist values in Djibouti. Policymakers are advised to prioritise cross-cultural education initiatives that integrate Pan-African themes, thereby promoting national unity and cultural diversity.
