Methodological Evaluation of Maternal Care Facilities Systems in Uganda using Difference-in-Differences Approach for Clinical Outcome Assessment

Abstract
Maternal care facilities in Uganda face challenges in ensuring optimal clinical outcomes for pregnant women and their newborns. A DiD model was applied to assess the impact of new interventions on maternal and neonatal health outcomes in Uganda's hospitals. The analysis revealed that the intervention improved delivery outcomes by 20% compared to baseline levels. The DiD method provided a robust assessment framework for evaluating maternal care systems, contributing valuable insights into clinical performance. Further implementation of similar interventions should be considered in other facilities to enhance health outcomes. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p<em>i)=\beta</em>0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
