Abstract

Theoretical frameworks are essential for understanding complex social issues such as migrant worker reintegration initiatives and youth employment programmes in Lagos, Nigeria. These frameworks provide a foundation to assess how these programmes contribute to social integration and skill-building among young migrants. Theoretical frameworks are constructed through literature review and analysis of existing data. This involves synthesizing research from related fields such as sociology, economics, and education to create a comprehensive model. This theoretical framework offers a robust structure to evaluate the impact of migrant worker reintegration and youth employment programmes on social integration and skill development, providing insights that can inform policy and practice in Lagos and beyond. Based on our findings, policymakers should prioritise inclusive language training, cultural orientation sessions, and vocational education opportunities as key components for successful migrant worker reintegration and youth employment initiatives.
