Abstract

District hospitals in Nigeria face challenges related to cost-effectiveness due to limited resources and inadequate data. A mixed-method approach will be employed, combining quantitative (panel data estimation) with qualitative insights. The study will use Stata software to estimate cost-effectiveness ratios and interpret results within the context of Nigerian healthcare systems. Panel data analysis indicates a need for increased investment in diagnostic equipment and training programmes to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes. The findings suggest that targeted interventions can significantly improve system efficiency, leading to better health outcomes at lower costs. District hospitals should prioritise investments in diagnostics and staff development. Policy makers are encouraged to allocate resources accordingly based on this analysis. district hospitals, cost-effectiveness, panel data, Nigeria Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
