Abstract
Historical Foundations of Contemporary Challenges in Governance A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to examine archival documents, legal records, and public opinion surveys from various periods since independence. Significant themes emerged regarding colonial legacies, economic dependency, and corruption across different historical epochs, influencing current governance structures and practices. The study underscores the enduring impact of past policies on contemporary Nigerian governance challenges. Policy recommendations should address systemic reforms based on a deep understanding of historical contexts to mitigate future crises.
