Language Discrimination and Academic Achievement in Multilingual African Societies

Abstract

Language policies in multilingual African societies often face challenges due to varying levels of proficiency and use among different linguistic groups. Language discrimination significantly affects academic performance and perpetuates educational inequality among multilingual African societies. Educational institutions should implement inclusive language policies that recognise and value all linguistic contributions, promoting equity and enhancing overall learning outcomes.
