Methodological Evaluation of District Hospitals Systems in Nigeria: Difference-in-Differences Approach to Assess Yield Improvements

Nigeria's district hospitals play a crucial role in healthcare delivery but face challenges in service provision efficiency. A DID approach was employed to compare pre- and post-intervention performance in selected districts. Data were collected through structured surveys and observational checks, ensuring robustness of the findings. The analysis revealed a significant increase (p < 0.05) in outpatient visits by 12% during the intervention period compared to baseline levels, indicating enhanced accessibility and utilization of hospital services. The difference-in-differences model demonstrated promising results for yield improvements in district hospitals, suggesting potential strategies for system enhancement. Further research should explore scalability of these interventions across different regions and consider implementation of data-driven management practices to sustain gains.
