Abstract

Community-based tuberculosis (TB) treatment programmes have been implemented in several Indian villages to improve access and adherence to TB care. Data were collected through standardised patient records from 10 randomly selected villages, using a logistic regression model to analyse factors influencing cure outcomes. Cure rates in the intervention group showed an improvement of 25% compared to historical control groups, with significant differences observed for patients adhering to medication regimens (OR = 3.2, p < 0.01). The study highlights the effectiveness of community-based TB treatment programmes in enhancing cure rates and suggests tailored interventions based on patient adherence. Further research should focus on replicating these findings across different Indian regions to validate their efficacy and identify best practices for sustainable implementation.
