Abstract

Rural Ethiopian seniors face significant health challenges due to limited access to information technology (IT). Conducted a longitudinal study using structured questionnaires. Smartphone adoption rate was 42% among the participants, indicating moderate access to technology. Digital literacy levels were found to be within the lower range of proficiency. Findings suggest that while there is some level of IT access and usage by rural Ethiopian seniors, further interventions are needed to improve digital literacy and adoption rates. Develop targeted educational programmes to enhance digital skills among rural elderly population. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
